talk about CUTE!!! my hubby found a baby raccoon at work friday. he said he found it lying on the ground, in a mudpuddle, outside his works door! who knows what happened. if all the rains caused mama raccoon to move her babies and she just lost this one, or something happened to mamma. he wrapped it up warm and put it in a coffee can, and waited to see if mama returned all day. when she didn't he brought this little one home. its little eyes weren't even opened yet! now i raised a baby coon when i was a kid, but thought it best to try and find a rehabilitator this time. called our local wildlife park and got a recommendation. called this lady up and she said she would take our foundling so off we went. it was so cool, she was a lovely lady and had several other baby coons, some coyotes, and other critters too. thought you might enjoy seeing this little darling!

Oh my gosh...he's adorable! My MIL raised a baby racoon once...she kept it until it killed one of her cats! I am glad you found someone to take him. Good luck little one!
thanks for visiting jennifer. yup, with all the grandkids and my 8 kitties i didn't think it wise to raise this one, if i didn't have to! lol glad we found a rehabilitator in our area or i would have had to! big hugs:)
Hopefully a happy ending for everyone! They are so cute. Have to talk about the skunk in our garage and the possum on our windowsill, but some other time! We have rehabilitators in our area also. They are great people to know! Finally changed your blog name on my blog! Some days it takes a while! LOL!
oh that would be cool if you told us about your skunk and possum sometime nancy! lol
Just remind me Leslie! I will have a senior moment until then! LOL!
no problem my friend! i am having more and more of those myself!lol
When I was a kid (a LONG time ago, when it was still okay to raise orphans) my dad found an orphaned raccoon and we raised it. It was so fascinating seeing it grow and having it around the yard. But they really don't make good pets and they do 'go wild'. He had to encourage it to leave after about a year because it was getting aggressive.
I'm glad you were able to help this one.
oh sande thats cool that you got to raise a baby coon too! oh, i might have raised this one up also if i would have had more time to tend it properly.just got my hands so full right now and the little guy was so small it would have had to been dropper fed, until it took to the bottle. which would have meant round the clock feedings and massaging its little privates so it could potty and pee pee. just don't have the time but would have MADE the time (and collapsed from exhaustion lol) if we didn't have a willing rehabilitator near me! and hey lady, how long is LONG? i will be 51 this year!!! lol thanks for visiting and commenting. always good to hear from you . sending ya hugs:)
