Pokeweed

I am going to be posting pokeweed, and other herb/plant, nice links on this blog for linda and i's own plant journeys. feel free to follow this link to the herbwife's kitchen post on pokeweed if you care to! chronic joint paint and lymphatic sluggishness are two things rebecca mentions poke might be useful for in that article. her whole site rocks if you are ready to get lost a few hours:)

Yes, that is very interesting! I have pokeweed all over the place. It is gorgeous, but I have heard (like it said) that it is poisonous. Now I am very curious about it!! Might have to try a berry.

Thanks for that great link!! I read about pokeweed, and I know my dad has eaten poke salad and my 92 year old grandmother would ccok poke like spinach. I have to go back and explore somemore as I am also looking for something to help get rid of gallbladder stones. Ugh..doctors just want to yank it out, but I have a problem with losing my body parts!!!
Gotta run for now as my neighbor is coming over and I need to tell them all about pokeweed!
Take Care!!!

hi ulrike! please do share anything else you learn about pokeweed. i was reading something else about gallstones the other day, i will have to see if i can find it. when my son in law has kidney stones i give him sassafras tea, with marshmallow leaves and slippery elm in it and that helps him very quickly pass the stone. the sassafras helps break it up and the marmallow leaves and slippery elm helps coat and soothe the duct and helps them slide on out. something to consider i suppose for you situation to. i will let you know if i find anything else i think may be of help! i am with you, no body part pulling if avoidable. i know, i think it was yarrow, i will go research...
