My husband, who grew up on a farm, did not pay any attention to our barn cats when we first married, but as my love for one of them grew he became attached also. Our wonderful fat tom, "Fuzz" captured his heart became our very favorite. Fuzz was quite an ornery male cat who loved to curl up in my husband's lap when he came home from work. They always met at the doorway to my shop. He and Fuzz would unwind together while I worked away in the garden rows or on my wooden table; harvesting seeds, tying up bundles of herbs, cleaning roots, or planting seedlings. My husband and Fuzz contendedly watched my hands moving in the afternoon light, two sets of eyes following my every move. ( I suspect Fuzz was just waiting to pounce) We loved Fuzz's quiet attention and purring language. Fuzz lived with us 2 years , playing from barn to pasture to garden. He went missing one day after a terrible fight with a coyote. We never could find him even tho we searched the pastures for weeks. My husband didn't say much about it, but I knew he missed Fuzz's company. He used to say he wasn't alone in the estrogen jungle (with me and our daughters) as long as he had Fuzz.
He was a good old cat.sunflowerherbfarmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04554817767941370036noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1036766049738639552.post-46503835806754120962010-02-11T16:23:49.960-06:002010-02-11T16:23:49.960-06:00Hi Leslie. Brittany named Orion), I have a soft spot for cats, especially ginger ones. They seem to be such characters.
I worked with a voice teacher who had a ginger Maine Coon named Rudy. He greeted students at the door, and if she used an effect on the keyboard that he didn't like, such as harpsichord instead of regular piano, he'd sit on the keys until she changed it.
Blessings to you, FranFranhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08475475650575160058noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1036766049738639552.post-4726889631232733432010-02-03T19:45:51.766-06:002010-02-03T19:45:51.766-06:00thank you aisling:) and rosarita:) and thank you f...thank you aisling:) and rosarita:) and thank you for visiting comfrey cottages also!Comfrey Cottageshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01135637912946395843noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1036766049738639552.post-73852899208802006172010-01-31T09:38:54.675-06:002010-01-31T09:38:54.675-06:00I am so sorry to hear about Rumbley. He would only let my sister and me touch him - he used to ride sitting around my neck when I fed the cattle! He left us to take up residence with a hareem of female cats in a neighbouring farm when I was away on my gap year and I never saw him again and have never had a pet since.Sarah Headhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08975928642943693605noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1036766049738639552.post-76479614254138515472010-01-22T16:58:52.643-06:002010-01-22T16:58:52.643-06:00thank you wendy, brigitte and janet for your kind ...thank you wendy, brigitte and janet for your kind words. they mean alot to me big hugsComfrey Cottageshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01135637912946395843noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1036766049738639552.post-10474272911054586562010-01-22T16:58:51.988-06:002010-01-22T16:58:51.988-06:00thank you wendy, brigitte and janet for your kind ...thank you wendy, brigitte and janet for your kind words. they mean alot to me big hugsComfrey Cottageshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01135637912946395843noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1036766049738639552.post-15451953371278796422010-01-22T08:59:59.285-06:002010-01-22T08:59:59.285-06:00Leslie, my heart goes out to you and your hubby.
